Lex Friedman blogs here.

Lex Friedman is Macworld's Staff Writer. He formerly wrote for TidBITS and worked as the Senior Director of Product & Community at Demand Media. Views expressed here are, unsurprisingly, his own.

He co-founded The Daily Plate.

His first book, based on his website The Snuggie Sutra, is available now.

Lex also tweets with some regularity.

About Lex Friedman and Lex, Briefly

While I tremendously enjoy writing for Macworld and TidBITS, I occasionally have thoughts about Apple, other technology, entertainment, politics, world events, and of course myself which seem to make more sense to discuss here on my personal site instead.

Site history

I began blogging ("The Lex Files") in September 2001 with Blogger. In 2002, I moved the site to a blogging platform of my own creation. In January 2009, I moved to Tumblr. In January 2011, Tumblr's too-consistent downtime outweighed its other advantages, and I wrote a new blogging engine to drive this site.

I use Coda and BBEdit.

Lex history

Feel free to read my unnecessarily detailed biography, but here are the key salient points.

I live in New Jersey with my wife and three kids. I contribute very frequently to Macworld and TidBITS. I'm also the Senior Director of Product & Community for Demand Media.

I work from home, using a treadmill desk. I believe that I am halfway decent at many things, but I work hardest at being a good dad.

Equipment

I use a MacBook Pro, iPhone 3GS, iPad 2, and Kindle 3 every single day.
